Personal Statement
Daniel Oi is a Reader in the Computational Nonlinear and Quantum Optics (CNQO) group at the Department of Physics, University of Strathclyde. His research interests span fundamental aspects of quantum theory, quantum engineering, the theory of quantum computation, and quantum space science and technologies. Prior to joining Strathclyde in 2006, he was a Research Fellow at Sidney Sussex College and the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, University of Cambridge. He obtained a BSc Hons Physics (1995) and BEng Hons Mech (1997) both from the University of Western Australia, and an MASt (Part III Mathematics) from the University of Cambridge (1999). He completed his doctorate at the Centre for Quantum Computation, University of Oxford (2002) under the supervision of Prof Artur Ekert.
