Personal Statement

I am currently a Teaching Assistant and a PhD candidate in the department of Management Science at the University of Strathclyde. I have experience teaching quantitative courses, such as Statistics and Econometrics.

My research is primarily focused on the application of statistical learning techniques to unstructured, high-dimensional data sets, with a particular interest in analysing the evolution of narratives and opinions over time. I am a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society.

I previously worked with macroeconomic research in the Brazilian financial sector. In October, 2015, I was part of the team that was awarded the Top 5 Award for best inflation forecasting by the Brazilian Central Bank.
