Personal profile

Research Interests

I am a current PhD Journalism, Media and Communication student at the University of Strathclyde, where my research concerns the use of literary and screen media as verification and justification of Manosphere ideologies, namely that of digital involuntary celibate groups, and how pedagogical environments can respond to this trend by promoting media literacy. I am supported in my research by the Diamond Jubilee Research Scholarship.

My research interests include literary psychology, masculinities, gender in media, identity in digital spaces, gender-transformative pedagogy and gender-based violence, topics addressed in my MRes dissertation, 'The Incel Bookclub: Inceldom, Toxic Masculinity and the Literary Canon', funded through the AHRC-aligned Interdisciplinary Excellence Awards Bursary.
