Personal profile

Personal Statement

I am a PhD candidate researching the potential energy resource of hydropower and tidal energy in the United Kingdom. This research will look at all categories of hydropower, tidal stream, and tidal range technologies to determine how much energy is available for extraction from the water resources of the UK, while taking into consideration the realistic constraints, such as environmental, technical, and financial limitations.  Understanding the energy potential of these renewable energy sources will assist in meeting the UK government's emission and renewable electricity generation targets.

My research is supervised by Dr Doug Bertram and Dr Chris White
