Personal Statement

After completing PhD from Cranfield School of Management, my first academic position was with University of Stirling where I spent two years as Lecture in Finance. I joined Strathclyde Business School in July 2012 and currently work as Reader (Associate Professor) in Finance. My research interest covers issues in global portfolio investments and emerging markets finance, particularly firm level corporate finance topics. I have published (or accepted for publication) in internationally recognised journals such as Journl of Corporate FinanceJournal of Banking and Finance (JBF), Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money (JIFMIM), International Review of Financial Analysis, European Journal of Finance, Pacific Basin Finance Journal and Journal of Multinational Financial Management (JMFM). I have also acted as referee for different journals - JBF, JIFMIM, European Journal of Finance, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Economic Modelling, JMFM, and Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance.

 

I have successfully supervised four PhD candidates and currently act as the principal supervisor of 3 PhD candidates. Currently I assume the role of Honours Course Director for Finance Subject and PhD Admission Director.
