Personal profile
Personal Statement
Carolina Rigoni is a PhD student, PGR representative and Faculty Ambassador at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, University of Strathclyde where she previously received her Master’s in Advanced Architectural Design. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from the Polytechnic of Turin. Her doctoral research aims to establish an interdisciplinary urban framework to understand the correlation between the development of the urban form in post-industrial city and global macroeconomic cycles. By analysing the spatial profile of each major economic phase, we can understand which are more resilient and conducive to accommodating significant urban changes across society and the economy. The IUF will be the result of the analysis of a wide range of initiatives and urban redevelopments, the spatial profile of each major economic phase, and the identification of outstanding lessons and common patterns. The framework will be tested through empirical research by developing of case studies in diffrent economic areas.
She is also qualified as RIBA Part II and hold more than six years of prior industry experience.
To her being an architect is to step out of a blueprint on the screen to examine all the stages of a project with the surroundings, their history, and the persons who already live and will be living there and never get tired of investigating problems and looking for the best solutions.
