Research Interests

As part of the EPSRC CMAC centre for innovative manufacturing and crystallization, the theme of this project aims to develop and inform the exploitation of media milling technologies as a means of controlling seed crystal growth surfaces introduced into continuous crystallization processing units. Through this approach, an emphasis is placed upon particle breakage mechanisms, interdependance of material properties, morphology, surface energy and size/strain through imparting mechanical action. Thus, a key deliverable of this research is geared towards particle attribute control and employing routine production of well-conditioned and size controlled particles required at a scale to meet the demands of subsequent processing.
