Personal profile

Personal Statement

My areas of activities are centered around heterogeneous integration, micro-fabrication with specific focus in Gallium Nitride light-emitting diodes and photonic integrated circuits, optical characterization, organic and colloidal semiconductors. Each of these areas is evidenced by my publication track record in peer-reviewed journals.
Specifically, I have developed a number of novel micro-fabrication processes, for example the design and build of a custom laser and LED direct write lithography tools or the full design and implementation of custom transfer printing tools; the latter with added capabilities such as full deterministic alignment capability, improved motion system and computer-controlled alignment processes.
In addition, I contributed to the development of LED color conversion and lasers devices using organic semiconductor (OLED) materials and colloidal quantum dots. It included the fabrication, measurement and application of these devices in visible light communication for example. It also encompassed the demonstration of novel formats such as arrays of mechanically flexible lasers with emission over the visible spectral range for applications in bio-sensing.
