Personal profile

Personal Statement

I am a PhD Researcher and PGR Representative at the Department of Architecture, University of Strathclyde. My current research interests include multidisciplinary approaches and the design of the transdisciplinary collaboration framework for the nature-based design of the sustainable built environment.

Previously I completed my Master of Architecture in Architectural Design (International) from the Department of Architecture at the University of Strathclyde with Distinction (2018-2020). My M.Arch design thesis involved a sustainable architectural design proposal for climate refugees facing a sea-level rise in the Philippines. During my Master's degree, my research focussed on the combination of biomimicry and biomorphism contributing to sustainable architecture and urban planning. Through my Master's thesis, I explored biomimicry and biomorphism in United Kingdom's contemporary architecture through the lens of BREEAM categories. Before my Master’s qualification, I graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree (2012-2017) with a Certificate of Honours for outstanding thesis and a CGPA of 3.51/4.00 from Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore, Pakistan; to become a registered Architect.

I hold postgraduate diplomas, diplomas and certificates from Elsevier, Strathclyde Business School (SBS), Student Partnerships in Quality Scotland (SPARQS), Building Research Establishment (BRE), British Academy of Interior Design (BAID), Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), and British Academy of Garden Design (BAGD).

Apart from academic excellence, I evolved my administrative, organizational, communication, and time management skills due to work experience in different industries such as academia, heritage, architectural design practice, and museum studies from 2015 onwards.

I have experience from various design/academic/research projects in a variety of contexts of Pakistan and the United Kingdom relating to the disciplines of architecture, interior design, and landscape design.

I hold memberships from RIBA, CIBSE, PCATP and IAP.
