I am a senior teaching fellow and transdisciplinary researcher with ongoing practitioner engagement in leadership and organising for grand challenges, the relational dynamics of leading and organising, and social ethics as practice.
My international career has progressed from analyst to consultant and project manager, programme director and vice president, to non-executive and board-level positions; and with organisations ranging from social ventures, public institutions, blue chip global multinationals, and now academia. I have worked in IT and systems integration, corporate sustainability and sustainable economic development, and also organisational and leadership process consulting.
I have always found myself intrigued by the relational dynamics of working life, how people navigate complexity and change, how teams bond and accomplish their goals (or not), the vicissitudes of collaboration and conflict, how organisational roles - such as leadership - are enacted, and how we show up as ethical, emotional, and relational beings.
These interests now inform my consulting and academic work - also drawing on my experiences in leadership, strategy, innovation, change, and programme delivery - to facilitate and think with professionals from a range of industry sectors, functional roles, and strategic contexts.
I teach on MBA, masters' level general management, and executive education courses in leadership and management (2021-22):
As an independent consultant, I facilitate experiential learning and purposeful action on strategic leadership, organisational development, and social impact.
I am writing up my doctoral thesis about a transdisciplinary inquiry on practising caring in organisations and organising, informed by classical pragmatism, feminist technoscience, post qualitative inquiry, social ethics, care ethics, caring theory, emotions in organisations, and compassionate practice.
As a social resarcher and organisational consultant, I have collaborated on inquiry projects including leadership development, organisational change, and multi agency public leadership.
From 2010 to 2020 I participated as a practitioner in academic-industry research projects on low carbon economies, social impact, and purpose-led business, all led by the University of Oxford.
As an industry-sponsored executive, I was awarded an MBA from the University of Oxford. I have also studied at the University of Cambridge (PG Cert Sustainable Business), the Tavistock Clinic (MA Organisational Consultancy), and King's College London (PG Cert Organisational Psychiatry and Psychology). I am a certified and experienced organisational consultant (Systems Psychodynamic), group coach (Person Centred), facilitator (Gestalt), sociodramatist, and a Fellow of the RSA.
