Personal profile

Personal Statement

I am a research student in the Advanced Nuclear Research Centre in the department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering . I also work closely with the department of Computer and Infomation Sciences. I am interested in the design of safe, explainable artificial intelligence systems and their applications to industry, as well as leveraging a human in the loop to increase performance of AI systems. I am specifically interested in the problem of digitising engineering drawings to provide speedy and intelligent data access to decades old equipment, which is the focus of my PhD.

I received my MEng from the University of Strathclyde in Computer and Electronic Systems in 2019, with distinction. During my undergradate studies I dabbled in automatic quantum circuit reduction strategies as part of my honours project, as well as in robotic systems on my masters project, and as part of the RoVER VIP.
