Personal profile

Personal Statement

My research and teaching interests include social and environmental accounting and accounting for risk. At a theoretical level I have a special interest in exploring the notion of multiple capitals and theories of value, in particular through interdisciplinary research. I apply my research to empirical investigations of social welfare, protection of human rights and engagement on environmental risk and 'materiality' thresholds for climate adaptation. I have over fifteeen years experience of working with the financial services sector on perceptions of social and environmental risks and valuations. My research and knowledge exchange activities are a direct input into my teaching and are reflected in my classes on Accounting for Risk, Accounting and Sustainability and Research Methodologies.
