Personal Statement
My main research interests lie in the mathematical and numerical modelling
of ordered materials, in particular of liquid crystals. This is a vibrant research area
which is of great importance not only to academic researchers, but also to
industrialists, as many results have direct consequences for the manufacturing
techniques of highly commercial items such as laptop and mobile phone displays.
