Personal Statement
Alison is a Technical Project Manager at the University of Strathclyde, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. She holds an MEng in Electronic Engineering with Physics and a PhD in optical microfabrication for biosensors from the University of Glasgow. She joined the Centre for Intelligent Dynamic Communications (CIDCOM), part of the Institute of Sensors, Signals and Communications at the University of Strathclyde in August 2013. Her research covers sensors and the extraction of maximum value from sensor data, and has included condition monitoring for water/wastewater applications and wind turbine gearboxes, intelligent decision support and control technologies for continuous manufacturing and crystallisation, laser generation and detection of ultrasound and micro- and nanostructure fabrication.
