Personal profile

Personal Statement

Miss Alessandra Orfeo is a second year PhD student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, supervised by Dr Enrico Tubaldi. Her thesis focuses on the development and modelling of innovative devices for the seismic protection of buildings. Her current work primarily concerns the validation of the numerical model realized for describe the behaviour of these devices and the seismic response of buildings isolated with them.

Research Interests

The main focus is the dynamic behavior of structural systems isolated with laminated rubber bearings. This includes the seismic response of isolated structures under bidirectional earthquake motions and the investigation of device models for different mixes of rubber.

Education/Academic qualification

Master in Science, Recalibrating models of seismic response to Near-Source Pulse-like Ground Motion and its effects on seismic structural response, Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture, University of Naples, Federico II

Award Date: 18 Jul 2018
