Abhilash is a research associate at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), specializing in AI-driven manufacturing innovations. His research expertise includes smart manufacturing, digital twins, additive manufacturing, ultra-precision, and non-traditional manufacturing processes.

Previously, he worked as a Research Associate at the Centre for Precision Manufacturing (CPM), University of Strathclyde, where he successfully developed and implemented digital twin solutions for the smart manufacturing of high-value products as part of the 'SMART' EPSRC project.

Abhilash holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (India), with coursework completed at IIT Madras. He also earned a Master’s degree in Engineering Design (graduating first in his class at the university level) and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Amrita University (India).

He has experience as an Assistant Professor at SIMAT, India, and as a Project Engineer at Flowserve India. With over 20 research articles published in reputed international peer-reviewed journals, he has also edited a book on 'Bioimplants Manufacturing' and contributed to several conference publications.
