While the geography staff have a diverse range of research interests, our particular strengths are in urban geography; sustainable communities; the knowledge economy; migration studies; and culture and marginalisation. Teaching and research in these areas is pursued in an academic setting that is uniquely interdisciplinary, bringing together a wide expertise in social, political and environmental sciences that is ideal for studying the relationship between human activities and the physical world.
