The Fraser of Allander Institute is Scotland’s leading independent regional economic research unit and carries out research into regional economic issues in general and for the Scottish economy in particular.

The Institute is perhaps best known for its publication – The Fraser of Allander Economic Commentary – which contains forecasts and analysis of, and extensive commentary on the Scottish economy three times a year. In addition, the Institute also carries out a number of leading surveys of the Scottish economy and produces individually tailored projects for external organisations, including business, public bodies and the third sector.

Its researchers have an international reputation in modelling regional economies and have ongoing research in areas as diverse as the economics of devolution and constitutional change, energy policy and energy technologies, and tourism and wellbeing.
