Scottish Agronomy - Balgonie Wheat Ear images with counts

Dataset

Description

Images of wheat ears were captured, along with counts of ears, from a Scottish Agronomy site in Balgonie, Scotland. Each camera rig consisted of a square frame of 250mm inner edge width. A horizontal crossbar had a gopro mounted at either edge, with both the crossbar and square frame able to be moved verticall to account for varying crop height.

3 samples (ear counts) were taken from each of 18 plots, giving 54 total counts. The samples were taken at least 1m in from the edge of the plot. Each sample was has an associated 'left' and 'right' image capture (from each end of the crossbar), providing variation in the shadows cast in the image, to better represent real-world usage.
