Description
Antibody (Ab) immobilisation onto a surface as a detection technique still remains a challenge and is of fundamental interest. Ab functionalised silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been developed for the direct molecular detection of explosives using surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). Here we report Ab’s which have been modified to specifically orientate ‘flat’ on the surface of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) bringing the target close enough to the metal surface to allow intrinsic SERS signals of the explosive targets to be obtained.
