This dataset contains all data for the functional algorithm validation experiment. In this study, we systematically investigate whether functional methods can be used to localise the CoR during a movement constrained in a single plane. We compare different methods (geometric and bias compensated algebraic sphere fitting methods, as well as the centre transformation technique and symmetrical centre of rotation estimation) for the determination of joint centres from marker trajectories. In addition, the effects of the following factors were analysed: range of movement, the speed of movement, marker cluster position, marker cluster size and distance to the joint centre. The data was captured by Vicon 12 camera system and all data analysis was done using MATLAB software.
