Description

This dataset contains the result of an exploration of the transmission Kikuchi diffraction (TKD) technique using a direct electron detector, Timepix. The dataset contains data acquired from three different samples: polycrystalline gold nano particles coated with amorphous silica, GaN nanorods, and AlGaN layer structure on laterally overgrown AlN/sapphire template.
The data was acquired in a FEI Sirion Schottky field emission scanning electron microscope.

Data consists of binary files, stack of 256 x 256 pixels 16-bit unsigned images.
Dataset1 contains a TKD map, 50x38 points, obtained from gold nanoparticles deposited on a TEM grid.
Dataset2 contains a TKD map, 100x100 points, obtained from GaN nanorods scratched on to a TEM grid.
Dataset3 contains a TKD map (threshold energy of approximately 29 keV), 50x50 points, obtained from obtained from a AlGaN/AlN/Sapphire laterally overgrown structure.
Dataset4 contains a TKD map (threshold energy of approximately 5 keV), 50x50 points, obtained from obtained from a AlGaN/AlN/Sapphire laterally overgrown structure.
