Data for: "Numerical investigation of depth-varying currents on ship hydrodynamics in confined water"

Dataset

Description

This dataset contains the resistance, resistance coefficients, sinkage, and trim of the KRISO container ship subject to depth-varying currents in confined water. The scale factor is 1:75 for a depth-to-draught ratio of 2.2. The data is organised according to speed and current direction, i.e. assisting currents and inhibiting currents. This data is available in graphical form in the accompanying paper.
The current changes according to linear (L), 1/7 power law (P), and exponential (E) equations with depth. The equations describing these current shapes are given in the paper. In all cases, the velocity at the canal bed and sides is equal to the ship speed.
