Data for: "How far does the power need to go? The impact of GB-wide transmission network capacity on wind curtailment and access to low carbon electricity"

Dataset

Description

The dataset includes the input and summary results for the ‘How far does the power need to travel?’ project conducted for the Electrical Infrastructure Research Hub. The input data includes hourly timeseries for demand and renewable generation availability as well as details of the network and system model used in each scenario. The result data is split in two: results for static studies, and results for build out studies. The static study results include key metrics for each scenario including objective function values, total generation and MWkm flow. Build out study results show how key metrics, specifically objective function, MWkm and curtailment vary across iterations, and which branches are reinforced during each iteration.
