We'll see even smarter prosthetic limbs in the future. Dr. Arjan Buis, Strathclyde University ‘Advanced prosthetics like the Genium contain intelligent components. In the future I think we’ll see even smarter prostheses. So-called “smart sockets” are more adaptable, they improve the connection between the body and the prosthesis. “Neuro-interfaces” link the prosthesis and nerves in the limbs. Ultimately if we can connect the leg to nerves that go directly to the brain, the brain will control it.’
