Description
During the this joint experiment with the group of Dr Yeshpal Singh and Prof Kai Bongs at University of Birmingham, the semiconductor disk laser (SDL) systems developed at University of Strathclyde were tested in a strontium optical clock setup. The systems transported are: a breadboard 698nm (P > 150 mW, Δν < 200 Hz, Laser head volume < 0.5-l) and a monobloc 689 nm (P > 150 mW, Δν < 200 Hz, Volume < 3-l). They have achieved the target performances and this joint experiment is the next step in the deliverables list of the UK National Quantum Technology Hub in Sensors and Timing’s Work Package 5. From day one, laser performance, and its short and long term stability, including the measurement of red VECSEL system linewidth via beat-note measurement against a commercial laser system.Period | 3 May 2022 → 20 May 2022 |
