Description
We are delighted to invite you to the forthcoming UKIEG annual conference & AGM hosted by the Department of Architecture at the University of Strathclyde. The conference will be on the 6th of June 2024, addressing the following topic “Monitoring and big data as divers of research and the policy agenda for Indoor Environmental Quality and health.”The UKIEG conference is an opportunity to facilitate a comprehensive exploration of the intricate relationships between Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) and human health through the lens of monitoring methodologies and big data analytics. As our built environments become increasingly complex, this conference endeavours to foster dialogue and collaboration among scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to shape the research and policy landscape for IEQ and health. Abstracts for posters and/or oral presentations are expected to address one of the key themes of the conference.
Key Themes and Areas of Topics:
Advanced Monitoring Techniques: Explore the latest advancements in indoor environmental monitoring technologies and methodologies, emphasising their application in diverse contexts.
Cross-disciplinary Collaboration: Encourage collaboration between architecture, engineering, health sciences, and policy experts to address IEQ challenges comprehensively.
Data Analytics for IEQ: Delve into the use of big data analytics to derive meaningful insights from vast datasets related to indoor environments, contributing to evidence-based decision-making.
Occupant Health and Well-being: Investigate the direct correlations between IEQ parameters and occupant health, including studies on air quality, lighting, acoustics, and thermal comfort.
Policy Implications: Examine the role of research in shaping indoor environmental policies, with a focus on translating academic findings into actionable measures for regulatory bodies.
Smart Buildings and IoT Integration: Discuss the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in smart buildings to enhance IEQ monitoring and management.
Sustainable Design for Health: Explore the intersection of sustainable design principles and indoor environmental considerations for promoting long-term health outcomes.
