Description
The contribution of research to practice in education is subject to sometimes tetchy debate about its purpose and usefulness. In what can only therefore be described as a break from tradition, the purpose of this seminar is to showcase the practical impact of research carried out by lecturers in further education. The studies presented take shape as professional inquiry projects and aim to disrupt habitual or previously uninformed assumptions about teaching and learning. Leaning on empirical evidence generated by professionals in the field, the results will reveal the complexity of learning in further education and provide informed understandings about the factors that impact upon the FE student journey, and how that experience might be enhanced.
