Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesKey-note speaker and plenary lectures at conferences

Description

Validation is one of the toughest problems academics face, i.e. finding out where the new knowledge works and where it does not. Decision makers also engage in validation all the time, as they need to decide about the knowledge they use for their decisions. In this talk I will unpack the three aspects of validation: consistency, relevance and applicability. My focus are business decision makers validating personal knowledge for a particular decision. The essence of my argument is that validating should always be done by the most knowledgeable person, which fully consistent with the principle of subsidiarity.
