Trustee of the Neurosciences Foundation (NSF)
The main aim of the Neurosciences Foundation is to assist in the provision of funds for research to help patients suffering from conditions such as stroke, head injury, Parkinson's Disease, Clinical Depression, MS and epilepsy. NSF is a registered charity which exists to help patients by providing funding for specific research projects. In order to receive NSF support, the research projects are always subject to strict peer review by a panel of experts.
The research which the NSF funds is centred, although not exclusively, on the Institute of Neurological Sciences [INS]. The Institute is a major unit within the NHS and is housed in the Department of Neurosurgery Building, located within the grounds of the Southern General Hospital, Glasgow, Scotland. Serving a population of three million people, the INS is recognised as a centre of excellence attracting medics from international locations for specialist education and training.
