Description
1m56s video clip of Howieson speaking on: Modern living could be doing more to damage your health than you think. Materials used to make houses and improve their appearance could be contributing to allergies. Stirling Howieson is director of the Centre for Environmental Design and Research at the University of Strathclyde. He has been studying the effects of modern building design and materials on health, especially asthma, and claims that modern homes are often over-insulated and over-heated. He recommends the avoidance of certain material where possible, a reduction in humidity and an improvement in the flow of air indoors.Period | 9 Apr 2009 |
