This conference theme is ‘Beyond Forensic Science’ and encourages attendees to think outside the box as to where the skills learned in traditional forensic science subjects could be applied. A range of speakers were invited to help students to widen their horizons, and
hear about some interesting and diverse career paths

Abstract: An overview of a 10+ year career in the UK private sector’s provision of Forensic Science, covering everything from DNA analysis to major crime examination, Gunshot Residue to recruitment before introducing a new role as a teaching associate at the University of Strathclyde. A brief talk about the career path so far, the changing UK Forensic Science landscape and the challenges encountered.
