I supervised a summer intern (2nd year undergraduate student), from the Computer and Information Sciences department at the University, for 5 weeks in order to develop Scratch software workshops for school outreach events. The workshops that were developed include going over the basic functions and codes that feature as part of Scratch software and using this software to create a game of pong and an animation. It is envisaged that these workshops will be used by Primary and Secondary school children, with the aim of introducing them to computer coding and mathematical concepts and skills. Funding for this internship was applied for to the Strathclyde Alumni Fund and Holmes Hines Memorial Fund (EPSRC).
