Description
The National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) showed interest in the robot control strategies developed by the Centre of Ultrasonic Engineering of the University of Strathclyde. Dr Carmelo Mino was invited to deliver a seminar on the capabilities of the new robot control approach, followed by demos. The seminar took place at the NNL site in Workington. The demos showed live machine vision object tracking, robotic object following and dynamic obstacle avoidance demos. NNL allowed the use of one of their KUKA robotic cells for the preparation and delivery of the demos. The robot in use was a KUKA KR180 robot equipped with KUKA RSI software add-on.
The proposed work (comprising the required preparation, the seminar and the demos) was delivered in a period of three consecutive days.
