Activity: Public Engagement and OutreachEducation Outreach

Description

As part of Scottish Maths Week 2018, I helped present and deliver a STEM outreach activity focused around cryptography. This outreach activity was delivered to 120 S3 pupils from St. Andrew's and St. Bride's secondary school and focused on the history of cryptography, such as the efforts of Alan Turing and the team at Bletchley Park in cracking the Enigma Code used in WWII. The pupils also had fun in encrypting and decrypting messages using Caesar and Vigenère ciphers.
