Scotland’s Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF) Update

Description

The invited presentation provides a Scottish sector update on the development and implementation of the TQEF for the Quality Council for UK Higher Education at the first meeting of the Council to be hosted in Scotland, at the University of Strathclyde.
The presentation describes Scotland’s 20-year journey through and from the Quality Enhancement Framework, through Scottish Funding Council review to the development and implementation of Scotland’s Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework. It considered the core principles established and implementation and describes in detail the process to finalise the TQEF components and methodologies with an emphasis on the cyclical peer review methodology (Tertiary Quality Enhancement Review and the implications and actions required in relation to TQEF for individual institutions within Scotland’s tertiary sector.
