Description
SafeTALK: suicide alertness for everyone is a 3-hour training in suicide awareness. It helps participants recognize a person with thoughts of suicide and connect them with resources who can help them in choosing to live. The training is open to all staff and students and no formal preparation to attend the training is required.
Over the course of the training you will learn to:
Notice and respond to situations where suicide thoughts may be present Move beyond the common tendency to miss, dismiss, and avoid suicide Apply the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, KeepSafe Know community resources and how to connect someone with thoughts of suicide to them for further suicide-safer help. Suicide is everyone's business, this awareness training may save a life.
