Roundtable on Re-Interpreting Iran: partnerships for the future (Event)

Activity: Membership typesMembership of council

Iran-UK Cultural Relationship Development. For consultation I was invited to a round table on Re-Interpreting Iran: partnerships for the future at the British Council Office, in Edinburgh on 29 October. This followed the British Council's considering the future of the cultural relationship between the UK and Iran. My invitation followed my recent activities (keynotes, publications, and editorial work with Iranian journals) geared towards to raising the academic profile of Iranian researchers in international spheres, particularly, encouraging Iranian educational policymakers to enhance research training and facilities in Iran and enhancing publication quality. At the roundtable, I particularly encouraged the British Council to closely work with Iranian authorities to tackle the issues of Iranophobia and Islamophobia that are pursued by an international community of politicians and media that benefit from global war and terror by demonising non-Western societies.
