The Rolls-Royce Engineering Doctorate Conference brought together around 120 delegates from industry and academia, under the common banner of industry-oriented postgraduate research at Rolls-Royce. I was part of a group of four EngD students who organised the event over the year, and presented a talk entitled 'Quantification of phased array ultrasonic NDE sensitivity for curved components'. Our two keynote speakers were Frank Kirkland - Chief Designer in Aerospace and Head of Fellows; as well as Professor Sam Turner - CTO of the AMRC. We implemented feedback from organizing the previous year's event, and achieved a reported increase in audience engagement with this year's event.
