Activity: Public Engagement and Outreach › Public Events
Description
Failure is a regular and important part in learning and exploring the unknown, yet it is rarely talked about and acknowledged in research & innovation contexts. In this panel event, we’ll hear different perspectives on failure in research and will have an opportunity to discuss not only the relevance of setbacks for fueling innovation and furthering knowledge but also how to normalize and reshape our perceptions of failure.
Led by an excellent group of speakers from the University of Strathclyde and Heriot-Watt University, this event will offer an interesting conversation about why we should be talking more about the setbacks and research that didn’t go as planned and how that can help support us as researchers and our work.
The event is delivered in collaboration between the University of Strathclyde and Heriot-Watt University. It is also part of Strathclyde's Research Integrity & Culture Week 2024.
