Description
Recounting the Untold Stories of Breast Cancer: Narratives from the Patient, Clinician and Scientist PerspectiveDo you have experience of a breast cancer diagnosis, being treated for breast cancer, or know a family member with breast cancer? Would you like to meet people with a similar experience, scientists working in breast cancer research, and clinicians to share your stories?
If so, we invite you to join us for a workshop sharing our experiences.
We are looking to run an interactive three-part event series at the Summerlee Museum, where we will follow the historical timeline of breast cancer, and milestones in its diagnosis and treatment. The event will be delivered over three sessions:
Session 1 (Tuesday, August 2nd 2022): Networking and introduction “Show & Tell”
Session 2 (Thursday, August 18th 2022): Storyboarding and bringing your story to life
Session 3 (Sunday, September 4th 2022): Sharing you story “Open-mic and gallery of stories”
We will have a range of those with lived experiences of breast cancer, an oral historian, a professional storytelling expert, and a range of scientists, and clinicians, each with a story to tell!!
