Description

The Royal Anniversary Trust launched the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Challenge (the Challenge) in 2022 bringing together leading UK universities and further education colleges to help their sector go further and faster in reducing carbon emissions and to achieve net zero. The Challenge has been accepted by the twenty-one winning institutions of the most recent round of The Queen’s Anniversary Prizes. The representatives include institutions in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The aim of the Challenge is two-fold:
• To identify clear net zero emissions principles and the core elements of a sector
decarbonisation roadmap.
• Review and test a new sector-wide Emissions Reporting Framework under development by
EAUC and its associated Working Group.
