Presentation Title: Place Typologies and Transformations in Emerging Knowledge Economies, Prof. Ashraf Salama The presentation offers a brief overview of the outcomes of the latest two research projects on the Qualities of the Urban Environment in Emerging Regional Metropolises (2011-2014), and on Housing Typologies in Multicultural Societies of the Gulf Region (2015-2018). The presentation highlights the shift of global economic forces and how Gulf cities are being developed as central hubs between developed economies in Western Europe and the rising economies of Asia.
