Description

I am a member of the Strathclyde Race Equality Staff Network

The network is a supportive and social space for colleagues to connect, share, celebrate and champion the diversity of our community. We believe the network provides an opportunity to build a more diverse and inclusive university community, and to enhance support for and visibility of Black, Asian and minority ethnic colleagues at Strathclyde. How the network develops will be decided collectively and in collaboration with the membership with practical support and resource. Going forward, our hope is this network will also provide a forum for various strands of interest and/or activity to emerge including anti-racist activity.

There is an MS Teams space to connect with other members and share resources, questions and opportunities between meetings. The network meets regularly (currently monthly), providing the opportunity to network with other BAME colleagues and allies committed to supporting race equality sharing experiences, information and knowledge. The network drives its own agenda, and members therefore have the opportunity to suggest topics for discussion, contribute to the topics discussed and suggest guest speakers. Network meetings are held in a hybrid format with a booked room / via Zoom.
