“Visions of Spain: Vicky Cristina Barcelona”. The image Spain projects through cinema is becoming more sophisticated as viewers are also more cultured and better-informed. Nevertheless, there are common stereotypes still present. This talk will discuss the representation of Spanish identity in Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona with a view to highlighting the complexities involved and to improve the understanding of Spanish culture.
