Description

MUSE (Models of University and Schools Engagement) is the only Scottish MUSE initiative in Scotland. This, one of the three MUSE projects in Strathclyde, is an arts interdisciplinary project with secondary pupils initiated in September 2013 and is a three year programme. Pupils have presented their research findings through art, music and dance at Strathclyde University's Research Day and at the pupils' school's awards and achievements ceremony. Due to the success of the first year of the project an invitation from NCCPE (National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement) has asked me to contribute to their annual conference in Bristol on 4th December, 2014. I will contribute to a seminar focusing on school university partnerships a RCUK funded project called SUPI (Schools University Partnerships Initiative). The conference will be attended by HEIs involved in and interested in public engagement. The conference will focus on Captivating place; Captivating ideas; Captivating people; Unlocking the potential of curiosity-driven engagement.
