Microbial Genomics of Eukaryotes

Activity: Presenting or Organising an Event › Organiser of major conference

Description

With technological advances like single-cell sequencing and long-read sequence techniques continually improving and allowing the full resolution of increasingly complex, highly repetitive genomes, and increasing knowledge of their importance in microbiomes and as part of the microbial ecosystem, this meeting is to celebrate and showcase the excellent and diverse scientific achievements around genome research on eukaryotic microbes. In conjunction with the event, we are launching the Microbial Genomics of Eukaryotes collection in Microbial Genomics to further highlight this area of research amongst the microbial genomics communities. In addition to the scientific content itself, the attendees will have the opportunity to join discussions with members of the Microbial Genomics Editorial Board and get further insights into the publishing process, as well as information about opportunities to get involved, like serving as early-career reviewers or on editorial boards. Being situated in Glasgow with multiple large research-intensive universities in close proximity, it will provide great opportunities to discover important research taking place in the local area and network with other local researchers interested in microbial eukaryotes.
