This provocative talk reframes María Zambrano's thought beyond philosophy and questions her belonging to any of the established academic disciplines, such as poetry or even literature. This paper contends that what she does, poetic reason, constitutes an alternative form of rationality and it should be considered as such. By doing this, it highlights the originality of her contribution as well as the subversive potential of her proposal.
