Description
Special issue on 'Abortion in Contemporary Francophone Women's Writing'. This special issue examines the representations of abortion in the work of contemporary French and Francophone women writers across genres, from autofiction to essays and young adult literature. The articles included in this special issue investigate the way women writers have explored the topic in their writing, thereby tackling the remaining taboo surrounding abortion, and shedding a new light on the lived psychological and physical experience of women. In doing so, they demonstrate how these texts contribute to creating new abortion narratives that confront a range of ambivalent emotions that can be felt in connection to abortion, while never questioning the right to its full access.
