Description

Clinic 20 Year Anniversary - Our work promoting access to justice

This year, the Clinic is turning 20, and we want to bring past and present Clinic members together, along with friends of the Clinic, to celebrate! We are holding an event on Thursday, 21st September at 6.00pm on the University of Strathclyde's campus. The event will be held in the Learning and Teaching Building in Room 325a (third floor).

At this event we will discuss access to justice in our main areas of work:- employment, regulation of social service workers and immigration. We will hear from practitioners and students who work in these areas of law who will talk about challenges, barriers and the highs and lows of representation.

We are hoping the event will resonate and spark discussions about issues of access to justice and what we can do to improve the situation. We also hope the event will offer a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, be nostalgic and come together to celebrate!

Some refreshments will be provided and everyone will be invited to join us at the Union bar (The Terrace) afterwards.

This event is open to volunteers, friends and alumni of the University of Strathclyde Law Clinic.

Speakers: Strath Head of Law, ET Judge Hoey, Andrew Crosbie Advocate, Cara Smeaton Advocate, Law Clinic Advisers Melissa McKillen, Gregor Henderson, Ramah Aslan Chairs Laura Nicol and Natalie Marshall
